John Stark was a NH native who was born in Londonderry and lived in Manchester. He served as an officer in the British Army during the French and Indian War and in the Continental Army during the American Revolution. He became widely known as the “Hero of Bennington” for his exemplary service at the Battle of Bennington.

Please join us to learn more about this quintessential citizen soldier who is responsible for the New Hampshire state motto “Live Free or Die”.

This is a joint co-sponsored event with the Lee Historical Society and the Lee Public Library.
